Denim, from “de Nîmes” (as in the city of Nîmes), is a sturdy cotton fabric with a rustic appeal. The technique itself is actually a version of another Eton favorite: twill. With a cultural status that few fabrics can boast, denim has a unique standing as an essential in the wardrobe.
