Luxurious, rich, and lustrous — silk at its finest. Woven as a twill for a substantial fabric that has all the drapability and lightness of silk.
A silk twill weave — Eton’s version of, and tribute to, the silk fabric as an iconic and luxurious fabric. The choice of twill is an unusual one for silk — a plain weave is a much more common choice — but it is characteristic of a shirt specialist: silk twill may be harder to weave, but the result is a robust, durable fabric with a luxe, substantial feel as well as the characteristic drapability and lightness of silk.
